Personally I believe Wolfgang's Vault will face big lawsuits releasing any Grateful Dead show for sale, not to mention many other bands such as Led Zeppelin, for another example. They fought the sites very existence.
I have listened to all of the Grateful Dead shows on Wolfgang's Vault and without any exception, EVERY single recording on the IA is superior to whatever they have to offer.. except maybe the small portion of 12/31/70. The Dead Head community has far more respect and has put way more effort into the quality of the recordings.

On the other hand, the concerts by the incredibly wide variety of bands and people on WV is amazing! I love to hear the shows and stream them there. There is some amazing stuff! A real treasure trove of different bands to listen to at Wolfgangs Vault. I can hear some great shows I would never otherwise get to hear. I was streaming some Jefferson Airplane at the Fillmore Auditorium in 1966 that just melted me to the floor the other night...

It’s true – there is a lot to sample from at Wolfgang’s, and while the sound quality is often poor, it’s awesome to have another easy source to peruse – and some concerts are quite well recorded. I find the summary notes to be very entertaining and informative.

As per the quality issue. Is this because of the source that is streaming or that they stream at a low kbp/s rate? I seem to recall reading that one of the other things WV is going to offer is an annual membership that would allow one to stream at 192 kbp/s.
